From Maryland With No Love
Compelling evidence that Covid-19 may have started in the U.S.

There is compelling — some would even say strong — evidence that Covid-19 didn’t originate in China. The virus was extracted in a military lab in Fort Detrick in Maryland. That lab has a bad reputation for mishandling dangerous lethal compounds such as Ebola, Anthrax, Smallpox and Plague. The facility was shut down for lax protocols. Reportedly some lab personnel were then approved to take part in the annual war games in Wuhan, China on Oct. 17, 2019. While on liberty, U.S. personnel strolled around the wet markets of Wuhan much as tourists would. They were all asymptomatically infected with SARS-COV-2 due to exposure to infected staff at the lab in Maryland. What I’m saying here is it appears we unleashed the pandemic. That could very well be why President Trump kept repeating it was the “China virus” — to keep the focus on the Chinese.
According to Tom Squitieri, in an articled published in The American Prospect (prospect.org) on June 30, 2020, the first report of a Chinese citizen being infected with the virus was three to four weeks after the 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan which opened on Oct 18, 2019. The 7th International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games was host to nearly 10,000 military personnel from over 100 countries. In addition to the competitors, the Games recruited 236,000 volunteers, including 210,000 city volunteers from all walks of life, such as national, provincial and municipal pioneers and models, college students and foreign students. So, that’s approximately 250,000 people at the games without including the spectators or the local citizens living in the immediate area surrounding the venue. Let’s estimate about one million people at ground zero in Wuhan. Over ninety hotels were booked solid. It was the original super spreader event for this pandemic.
According to Squitieri, “A strong correlation exists in COVID-19 cases reported at U.S. military facilities that are home bases of members of the U.S. team that went to Wuhan. Before March 31, when the Pentagon restricted the release of information about COVID-19 cases at installations for security reasons, infections occurred at a minimum of 63 military facilities where team members returned after the Wuhan games. Additionally, the U.S. team used chartered flights to and from the games via Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Washington was one of the earliest states to show a spike in COVID-19”.
“The delegation to Wuhan included 188 athletes, 24 coaches, 18 team captains, 15 medical providers, 10 referees, nine public-affairs officers, seven “senior leaders,” nine CISM (International Military Sports Council), and two State Department personnel, according to DOD documents”.
In an article for Global Times on March 25, 2020 (GlobalTimes.cn), Leng Shumei and Wan Lin reported Chinese netizens and experts urged the US authorities to release health and infection information of the US military delegation which came to Wuhan for the Military World Games in October to end the conjecture about US military personnel bringing COVID-19 to China.
The Global Times article further stated “an American journalist claimed one US military athlete in the delegation could be patient zero of the deadly new disease”.
Some of the most disturbing information in this chain of causality comes from John M. Donnelly, a reporter for Roll Call (rollcall.com) in an article published on March 26, 2020. “The CDC inspection findings, obtained by the Frederick News-Post and published by the paper in redacted form in November, said the lab had “systematically failed to ensure implementation of biosafety and containment procedures commensurate with the risks” of working with pathogens like Ebola, smallpox and plague”.
“Last summer’s CDC inspection report, though, found a host of problems. In one documented violation, a researcher had propped open a door to a room that was supposed to remain sealed. The door was opened while “a large amount of biohazardous waste” was being moved, potentially exposing unprotected personnel in a nearby area. What’s more, the CDC report said, inventories of pathogens were not completed. Rooms that were supposed to be sealed had cracks in ceilings and around equipment”.
This statement is perhaps the most ominous of all — remember this report was published in March, 2020: “The shutdown has not affected work on the novel coronavirus, which is not listed among the most lethal substances”, according to Col. Wendy Sammons Jackson, director of infectious disease research at the Army’s Medical Research and Development Command, located at Fort Detrick.
Let’s review that last statement. Just as the Pandemic was kicking into second gear and the virus was killing people almost faster than the deaths could be counted, Fort Detrick Command did not list the SARS-COV2 virus among the “most lethal substances” being handled.
Does this article prove that Covid-19 originated in the U.S.? No, it doesn’t. So why did I write it? Because refusing to consider it as a possibility is as irresponsible as the proliferation of baseless assertions of wild and reckless theories. The Chinese weren’t forthcoming with their infection data, which is unfortunate. The U.S. failed to validate the contact tracing protocols which in retrospect seem to be both prudent and urgent. Instead the world got finger-pointing and damaging rhetoric. The U.S. just passed the 400,000 deaths milestone.
